Research subject - methods of frequency composition determination within sound signal, methods of rhythmical units recognition, methods of common rhythmical characteristics recognition within musical sounds sequence. The purpose of the work is development of methods and algorithms, which would provide pitch-based and tempo-based recognition of previously recorded sequences of musical sounds, and creation of software complex for transformation of amplitude-time representation of this sequences into some kind of symbolic form (note text) on the basis of developed algorithms. Theoretical and practical results: 1. The period-definition-based method for pitch estimation was modified by taking into account the way varying differences are changing; 2. The method and algorithm for main frequency components determination were developed on the basis of methods of amplitude-time and amplitude-frequency analysis; 3. The method and algorithm of melodic contour postprocessing were developed; 4. The method and algorithm of draft duration recognition were developed. Also the method of draft duration recognition results correction was proposed. This method takes into account knowledge about common rhythmical characteristics of analyzed musical sounds sequence; 5. The method and algorithm of a posteriori definition of common rhythmical characteristics of musical sounds sequence were modified; 6. The software complex for analysis and processing of music records was created. Theoretical results, which were achieved during R&D, are used in training courses "Digital sound processing and speech recognition", "Natural language processing", "Basics of pattern recognition systems development" and "A priory information processing in pattern recognition systems".
