Goal of the study - to estimate the mental health and nervous system conditions in women residents and women evacuated from radioactive polluted territory and to ground the improving measures. Methods - clinical neurological, psychiatric interview and standard diagnostic scales, biochemical blood examination, neurophysiological, statistical. In remote period of Chernobyl accident in women's structure of nervous and mental disorders the neurotic, stress-related and somatoform disorders, chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency and disorders of vegetative nervous system are dominate. In clinic the small-lesson neurological and neurotic symptomatology dominate as a result of midline structures irritation. For women evacuated from radioactive polluted territory the signs of posttraumatic stress disorder are increased. Gender specific is increasing of somatic preoccupation, anxiety for their future and the future of theirs family and depression with domination of neurotic, stress-related and somatoform disorders (F40-48) and bare amount of mild cognitive disorders (F06.7). The main risk factors for nervous and mental disorders are chronic stress, premorbid personality features, vocational training to the extreme situations, social and economical factors and somatic pathology. The mental health and nervous system condition improving measures are the combination of up-to-date psychopharmacotherapy, psychotherapy and adequate social readaptation of survivors after the Chernobyl accident.
