The subject of study: biological treated waste water. Investigation methods: collection of statistical data and their analysis. The characteristic of main water supply sources was considered. Using of water in industry, municipal engineering in dependence on main river basins and territorial entities was analyzed. The data of waste disposal to surface water bodies in dependence on branches of national economy of Ukraine and territorial entities of basins of Dnipro, Siversky Donets' and rivers of Pryazovya were given. It was determined that these basins are most representative for further investigation of necessity of water using in reversible cycles of different branches of industry. The possibility of useful decreasing of volume of fresh water intake from water supply sources due to transfer of reversible systems of water supply to closed cycles was considered.
