Aim: singling out the system of diagnostic parameters for the implicit (mediated) assessment of the individual's proneness to retain homeostasis under stressful conditions of the professional and everyday life activities. Methods of investigation - theoretical analysis of the reflection of emotional stability and personality traits in the psychic states of the individual; computer modeling of emotional processes; experimental testing of hypotheses; cluster analysis of research data (k-means algorithm). Theoretical and practical results - a new method of the implicit assessment of the emotional stability has been designed. The method allows to predict emotional stability on the variables of the information - processing efficacy under the conditions following "performance failure" simulated through exceeding the short-term memory capacity. Other parameters of the implicit diagnostics of the emotional stability have been identified with respect to the coping strategies preferred by the individual; characteristics of the higher psychic functions (styles of humor, foreign language anxiety), integral personality traits (emotional intelligence). Novelty - an innovative computer-assisted method of predicting emotional stability has been patented. The results of the research enhance the quality of training practical psychologists. They can also be used for the professional selection of specialists who are to work under extremely stressful conditions.
