Processes of electric power transmission, accumulation, conditioning in the utility power supply system (UPSS) with active semiconductor compensator (AC). The purpose - development of calculation methods and control algorithms of energy saving semiconductor converters, usage of which allows to decrease losses and to improve power quality in the utility power supply system. Methods - the coordinate transformations and modern power theories, Fourier decomposition, design with the applied packages of computer programs. The possibility of simultaneous efficiency increase and power quality improvement in UPSS due to connecting AC in parallel with the load, the modified coordinate transformations of voltage and current spatial vectors. Correlation for the calculation of parameters of capacity and inductive energy stores of AC, the new algorithms for automatic control systems of AC based on the cross-vector and p-q-r power theories, the computer model of UPSS with an AC. The results of the research are used in the educational process of industrial and biomedical electronics department National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute".
