Objective: To review current theoretical and methodological approaches to the problems of interaction in the European Economic Area in the context of features of European integration processes. Methods: Analysis and synthesis, comparison, abstraction and generalization, induction and deduction, the unity of historical and logical, statistical analysis and modeling. Results: Based on the logic-historical methodology it's defined European economic space, stages, factors of its formation to justify post-crisis trends in the European Economic Area, the main factors of transformation architectonics of the European Union. It's defined European institutional disparities of socio-economic space, and analyzed strategic justification reform through liberalization in the traditional foundations of civilization (the case of Greece). It's discovered phenomenon of sharpening contradictions between "national" and "regional" in the space of the EU, which leads to protectionism. In the context of the basic challenges for Ukraine it's discovered the necessity of a strategic partnership with Russia. It's proved System-historical role of economic, social and political relationships between Russia and Ukraine, and the implications of disintegration in the context of the destabilization of the socio-economic development. It's grounded low adaptive capacity of Ukraine to the economic achievements of Western Europe through Ukrainian institutional failure of the economic institutions of the Western model. It's proved that at the present stage of the interaction of European Union - Ukraine, when arrangements for associate membership of Ukraine are slowly due to lack of endogenous development trends of Ukrainian economy that developed in the European economic, social and institutional environment, and in the development of European trend of protectionism, geopolitical priority and geoeconomic course of Ukraine should be cooperation with Russia. It's proved that economic reintegration of the former Soviet territory is the only way of confrontation to challenges of globalization through the creation of a common market. It's grounded institutional model of regulation the cooperative interaction between Ukraine and Russia; it's proved interaction between Russia, Ukraine and close civilization European countries for geopolitical and geo-economic equilibrium.
