The analysis of fluctuating asymmetry, being the main indicator of the development stability, allowed to define sensitive species which can be used as bioindicators in the ecosystem assessment. It has been revealed and analyzed an essential part and wide range of morphological anomalies, and indicator species recommended. It is shown the dynamics of increasing numbers of individuals with anomalies over the last 10 years. Basing on the procession results of museum collections there have been established areas with a high portion of herpetofauna species diversity including the species from the Red Data Book and rare species that makes it possible to introduce bioindication methodology at the ecosystemic level. Chromosomal aberrations were revealed which could be caused by action of various mutagenic factors of the environment. There are recommended indicator species of the state of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems at the chromosome level taking into account characteristics of karyotype and nonspecific processes of species formation in some taxa. The assessment of immune system efficiency has showed that such deceases as leukocytosis and haemophilia (with weakening of immune system) are induced under the action of contaminants. There is presented a ranked list of amphibians and reptiles as ecosystemic, factor, ecological, evaluating indicators and indicators of health. Reactions of amphibians and reptiles are described in response to the impact of stress factors. The use of herpethofauna as an indicator of climate changes is shown. The proposed methodology is for the first time implemented at the level of herpetofauna and gives an integral assesment of the state of living beings taking into account all complex of influences that makes it possible to determine cause-and-effect relations and foresee ecological risks in transformed ecosystems of Ukraine.
