Purpose of research - to study the genetic resources of brown Carpathian cattle breed and breeds of various origin, to carry out methods for preservation and rational use of the gene-fund of the brown Carpathian breed in pure breeding with in-depth study of biological and selection processes, which are taking place in closed populations with saving of whole complex of features specific to local breeds, that created by the long-term process. Result of research - elaborated program of conservation and rational using of brown Carpathian breed and improving its economically useful features in a mountainous area of the Ukrainian Carpathians.
