Report on research project contains 695 pages, 303 figures, 50 tables, 620 references, 49 annexes. Research object are the digital multispectral aerospace images of Earth surface, research subject are the methods for multidimensional imagery of the Earth surface processing and interpretation and techniques for objects identification and analysis on digital multispectral aerospace images. Research objective is to develop theoretical and methodological foundations, new methods and algorithms for automated processing and interpretation of multispectral and hyperspectral aerospace information from existing and future aerospace imaging systems. Main research methods are the comparative analysis of known methods for automated processing of multispectral aerospace imagery, statistical methods of evaluation and identification, spatial frequency analysis of transfer properties of the imaging aerospace systems, data fusion methods, computer simulation. Research project is performed on request of the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine, the funding source is a State budget. The head contractor of project is the Scientific Centre for Aerospace Research of the Earth IGS NAS of Ukraine; there are no subcontractors of project. The main structural part of the report includes six sections, 25 subsections, 67 items, 55 subitems and conclusions. In this research the modern approaches to automatic processing, interpretation and evaluation of multispectral aerospace information for Earth remote sensing (ERS) are analyzed and systematized, the theoretical and methodological foundations for automated processing, interpretation and evaluation of multispectral aerospace information are developed, the system of identification features and methods for quantitative estimation of multispectral aerospace information are substantiated, the repository of data and identification features for ERS is created, the concept of data fusion in remote sensing is offered, the 17 new methods and algorithms for processing, interpretation and evaluation of multispectral aerospace information are developed, the 6 new pilot techniques for automated processing, interpretation and evaluation of multispectral aerospace information are elaborated, approved and verified in reference tests, the propositions for the implementation of developed techniques into ERS practice are provided. During the studies the personnel of the research department adopts a number of effective methods and software systems for automated processing, interpretation and analysis of multi- and hyperspectral digital aerospace imagery from the modern airborne and satellite electro-optical systems, as well as there are found 6 unique technical solutions, which novelty is confirmed by the patents of Ukraine for inventions. Developed as the research project result techniques and methods for automated processing and interpretation of multispectral aerospace information can be applied to perform a variety of thematic and research tasks using remote sensing data for the National Space Agency of Ukraine, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, Ministry of Ukraine on Emergencies, the State Service of Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre of Ukraine, other ministries and agencies and international organizations.
