Information × Registration Number 0211U002161, 0109U005355 , R & D reports Title Effect of the active layer optical properties on the threshold and spectral parameters the photon liquid crystal oscillator. popup.stage_title Head Tichonov E.A., Registration Date 21-01-2011 Organization Institute of physics NASU popup.description2 Оbject of researches is - liquid crystals of cholesteric and nematic types, activated by organic dyes, a research purpose is - a study of influence of optical properties of liquid crystals on spectral and threshold characteristics of their lasing, methods of researches and apparatus are - optical spectroscopy, including polarization, laser spectroscopy, theoretical and practical results - clear correlation is set between quality of planar texture of dye- doped steroidal CLC and placing of their lasing spectra within the limits of selective reflection (SR) band: in a center of SR band for high-quality texture and on its edge - for low-quality. For induced CLC such correlation absents, a spectra is always placed on edge of the SR band. For texture of CLC with crossed directions of rubbing on substrates, there is a strong selection of longitudinal modes that allows to get the single mode in the wide interval of power intensities. Smooth changing of magnitude double refraction due to a process the trans- of cis photo isomerization in induced CLC on the basis of azoxy-nematics allows to get reversible photo tuning of their lasing frequency within the limits of 35 nm. It is set that application of induced CLC with the SR band in 2-3 times greater, than in steroidal, allows to get more low threshold of lasing of such CLC due to the increase of permanent coupling (energy exchange) and work at the thicknesses of layer in 2-3 times of less. For the lasing of dye- doped NLC with the artificially created periodic structure more perspective is a scheme of excitation with the sine V-block which allows clean to liquidate a parasite lasing. Novelty - a practical novelty is the method of the single mode lasing in texture of steroidal CLC with the crossed directions of rubbing and reversible photo tuning of lasing frequency in induced CLC at the processes of trans- cis - isomerization azoxy -nematics, efficiency of implementation - it is not yet innovation, a sphere ( is industry) applications are - a laser and optronics technique.
