It was established that the TiO2 doping by 1% of zinc ions led to an increase of photocatalytic activity in the tetracycline destruction. It was experimentally supported that the gold nanoparticles modification of TiO2 та ZnО/TiO2 films covered on the glass improved their photocatalytic action as a results of the charge's distribution/accumulation by gold nanoparticles under UV-irradiation. In contract, the Au/ TiO2 films covered on aluminum substratesdid not have an effect on the photocatalytic activity of the semiconductor. The formation of recombination sites due to the substrate influece could take place. It was observed that gold nanoparticles in the systems changed the destruction mechanism leading to tetracycline oxidation.
