Objective of researches is to study the spontaneous long-term processes of formation of the climax steppe ecosystems of the Biosphere Reserve "Askania Nova" in the context of modern taxonomic composition, structural and functional organization, spontaneous dynamics and alogenic changes of abiotic component and biota. Methods of researches are the classical research techniques of soil, field geobotany, floristics, zoology and ecology, and standard laboratory methods. The materials of characteristics of the redox processes in seasonal and different years' dynamics at the soils of the virgin land and agrocoenoses at the area of the Biosphere reserve "Askania Nova" are presented in the report. The influence of a zoogenic factor on saline regime and processes of humus formation of the background soils and vegetation of askanian steppe is described. Productivity of the zonal and intrazonal vegetable associations subject to the spontaneous and anthropogenic factors is studied. Re-inventory of the vascular flora of the core area, spontaneous flora of the Dendropark and synanthropic flora of the buffer and anthropogenic landscape zones is realized. The functional role of carnivorous mammals in the ecosystems of the reserve is shown. The parameters of connections between ecosystems through the cranes and Anseriformes are studied and recommendations for decrease of negative action of these species in the agrolandscapes are devised. A synopsis of the vertebrate fauna of the Biosphere reserve "Askania Nova" is made. The structural and functional organization of dendrophilous avifauna of the transformed ecosystems is researched. The results of completed researches are included in a system of the long-term monitoring, evaluation and optimization of the soil cover status of the Biosphere reserve "Askania Nova". They are used in management of agro-industrial development of the Chaplinka District State Administration, the State management department of nature environment conservation in the Kherson region; in the training courses of agriculture department of the agronomic faculty of the Kherson State Agrarian University; for specialties "The reserve business", "The environment monitoring", "Botany", "Ornamental horticulture" of the Institute of Natural Sciences of the Kherson State University Product Description popup.authors
