For the classification we used free of charge satellite image data of medium spatial resolution and ground observation data. We obtained a thematic map of crops for Kiev region with a total classification accuracy 89% and with high accuracy of crop area estimation (10% tolerance for the dominant classes) that meet accuracy standards of the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine.
