The solutions of the number of important scientific problems, which are connected with material culture and funeral customs of the Crimean Greeks and Barbarianshave been proposed. The investigations of the jeweller's art and toreutics demonstrate the significant influence of the Antique culture on the Crimean Barbarians. This influence was the main reason for the cultural differences between Barbarian societies of Crimea and Kuban. The new archaeological materials from Greeks and Skyths settlements and burials have been described. The great bulk of information concerning the material culture and funeral customs (from Hellenistic period until XIII century ) of the Chersonese populations were interpreted. The architecture, domestic and cult material cultures, as well as the funeral customs used in the most populated medieval centers of the Crimea have been studied. On the base of the typological and technological attributes the groups of local and imported medieval pottery were distinguished. These helps to establish the commercial connections between Crimea and neighboring territories in the medieval time.
