It has been shown that a ripple pattern is not formed in simulation of irradiation by low-energy ions without a target modification in the bulk, but it is formed in a simulation with diffuse relaxation of the density. The experiments have revealed that an additional contribution of a non-cascade mechanism of pattern formation due to the loss of oxygen, in particular, by a thermal mechanism, is possible at low grazing angles. Patterns obtained on the surfaces of the oxides and the materials with low sublimation energy as well, are the fractal ones with a fractal dimension from 2.3 to 2.45. It has been shown that the copper can substitute up to 3-4 mol. % of calcium in icosahedrally coordinated positions of a CCTO structure with reduction of lattice dimensions. It has been found that such substitution leads to the degradation of dielectric properties of the materials.
