Formation of the polynuclear species was realized by exo-coordination of extra metal ions to the exo-chelating site(s) of the mononuclear complexes which resulted, in particular, in changes in their redox properties and stability. On the basis of this effect the new ways to fine tune the redox potentials of the synthesised compounds have been developed, and the catalytic activity of the synthesised complexes in different reactions of oxidation. Also, the obtaied complexes with tunable redox potentials have been used as functional modules in hybride materials and functional nanosystems. Study of correlations between the structural and physico-chemical characteristics of the complexes and their redox properties allowed fine-tuning of molecular parameters and redox potentials.
