The project objective is focused on research of effectiveness of liquid auto-balancing units for reducing machine vibration with horizontal rotation axis and variable rotor imbalance. Theoretical research has been conducted by means of mathematical modeling methods, variational calculations, and analytical hydrodynamics. Experimental research was conducted on real objects and facilities using video-camera, vibro-meter VIBER-A, vibration measuring instruments PI-19, film oscillograph H071.4 M, vibration analyzer "ADACH", vibration analyzer A4101, instrument VV-10H, transparent cylindrical chambers, personal computer Pentium IV. Research results: for the first time it's been worked out the theoretical grounding for automatic balancing by liquid of rotors with horizontal rotation axis, which distinguishes from existing statements by taking into account hydraulic properties of liquids, damping system, gravity force and friction, and proves that auto-balancing is possible not only in over-resonance but also in pre-resonance zone of rotor rotation and in the resonance; it has been theoretically and experimentally proved that self-balancing is effective for elastically deforming rotors and rotors on elastic supports; auto-balancing has been determined as energy-saving technology. Project results can be implemented in light-, food- and machine tool industry for balancing domestic washing machine basket with horizontal rotation axis; separators and rotor machines used in medicine. Project results have been implemented in Ltd "Europe-export plus", what allowed 2-5 times reduction of industrial fan vibration. Vibration velocity of bearings has decreased from 55 mm per sec down to 12 mm per sec, error-free running has increased from 1 month to 1 year.
