Objective: to develop practical recommendations to bring down the negative influence of eutrophication on the state and functioning of ecosystems in the deltaic part of the Dnister River and the Dnister Liman. During the studies standard methods of environmental sampling and analyses recommended in Ukraine and in the EU were used, as well as modern measuring devices for hydrological and hydrochemical characteristics. In 2009-2010 two field surveys have been organized to study the state of ecosystems in the Lower Dnister and the Dnister Liman. During the survey hydrological, hydrochemical, hydrobiological and microbiological observations of the water-bodies in the deltaic part of the Dnister River were carried out, from the Kuchurganskiy Liman to the Karolino-Bugaz Spit. The materials collected have enabled us to assess hydrological and hydrochemical regime of the studied water-bodies and the state of phytoplankton, aquatic vegetation and microflora. Grounded are the recommendations as to bring down the negative influence of eutrophication on the state and functioning of ecosystems in the deltaic part of the Dnister River and the Dnister Liman. For the first time trophic status of the water-bodies: rivers, lakes and limans (estuaries) in the deltaic part of the Dnister was estimated. Potential capacity to forecast eutrophication phenomena in the deltaic part of the Dnister were assessed. The results of the work have been implemented in the Lower Dnister National Park and in the educational process of Odessa National I.I.Mechnikov University.
