The research work performers have tested and applied the pH neutral papers made from natural fibers for the effective strengthening of documents as well as conducted experimental tests of traditionally used and new sizing compositions. Basing on the collected and analyzed data referring to the techniques of reinforcing the weakened material base there was developed "Technological scheme of selecting different types of documents for reinforcing the material base under the conditions of NBUV" which was used for scientific-and-applied examination of different types of documents and selection thereof for reinforcement and stabilization by the specialists of the Centre of conservation and restoration of NBUV. During 2009-2010 the researchers investigated the Collection of works of Hreptovychiv family, Yablonovsky family library, the library of Lutsk-Zhytomyr Jesuit College, the Kremenets Jesuit College Library, the collection of the founder of the National Library of Ukraine and Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, 'the collection of the distinguished scientist and orientalist Yu.A. Krymskiy, some documents from the collection of Ayzenshtok, M.I. Kostomarov, Pavlo Galagan College, A.I.Seniuks. and Yu.M.Sokolova, SM Landkofa et al. Since the end of 2009 within the frame of research work there was started the creation of electronic data base of complex permanently effective ecologic monitoring of premises and library funds via the "IРБIС64" system of library automation for developing the electronic base of temperature and air relative humidity data in book stores of NBUV.
