Object of study - forming of the collection of genetic diversity winter and spring rape and other cruciferouscrops. Goal of study - forming and leading the collection of cruciferous crops to provide source material of selection of new varieties and hybrids and preserve the genetic base for the future generations. Methods of study - introduction: evaluation by the field, laboratory, statistical methods; identification; long-term storage; creation of an information system on genetic base. Results: By 01.11.2010 the collection of Ivano-Frankivsk Institute consist of 804 samples of native and foreign origin from 32 countries of the world, including 354 samples of winter rape, 272 - of spring rape, 10 samples of winter wild turnip, 38- of spring wild turnip, 22- of white mustard, 21- of black mustard, 36- of Brassica juncea L, 1-of tyfon , 1-of perko, 3-of oil turnip, 1-of Eruca sativa. During the reporting period (2006-2010 years) 236 samples were added to the collection, mostly of winter rape (128 samples were added to the collection) and of spring rape (75 samples). Introduction of samples is made by the employees of the laboratory. In the year of 2010 39 new samples were taken and introduced to the collection. Information about 804 collection samples is included in passport data. For preservation 758 samples were transferred to the National Repository. 181 packs of samples were sent to research institutions, schools and other consumers, including 15 packs in 2010. To selection programs 79 samples were involved, including 8 in 2010 year. In 2006-2010 years sort-patterns, sources of culturally-valued characteristics of cruciferous crops were defined. Registration Certificates for samples were made in the National Centre of Genetic Resources of Plants of Ukraine (NCGRPU) for winter rape sort Tysmenyts'kyj and Galyts'kyj, spring rape sort Mykytynets'kyj and white mustard Pidpecherets'ka. Description of varieties was passed to NCGRPU for registration of winter rape: Dangal, Dembo, Dema, Demerka, Svjeta, Cheremosh; spring rape: Arion, Luzhok; Brassica juncea L: Roksolana; black mustard Sofija, oil turnip Zhuravka, Camelina sativa -Girs'kyj. Basic collections of winter and spring rape were formed by signs of differences. During 2006-2010 years the quality was comprehensively examined, was given the assessment and introduced the variety samples by economically-valuable signs. The planned volume was fully implemented.
