Purpose of research - cultivation of "+0"-varieties of winter rape with the Erucic acid content in seed oil over 50%, glucosinolates content - up to 18 mM/g, crop capacity - 4.0-4.5 t/ha, seed oiliness - 44-46%. For the purpose of research the multiple individual-family selection out of populations and hybrid nurseries of different eco-geographical origin was conducted. Selective samples were studied for economic and value indicators of productivity and quality: - productive indicators (number of branches, number of pods and number of seeds in pods of individual plants, weight of 1000 seeds, individual plant and crop area capacity); - biochemical indicators (oiliness, low glucosinolates content, high Erucic acid content). Object of research - linear and hybrid material, varieties and hybrids of winter rape. Subject of research - to study the source material from collection samples and intervariety and interspecies hybrids. Methods of research - hybridization, pedigree, individual-family, biochemical and analytical selection. For the first time in Ukraine the cultivation of winter rape varieties for technical use (type "+0" with high Erucic acid content and low glucosinolates content) was commenced. The research work was focused on hybridization and selection of plant. A new variety Demerka with high Erucic acid content was created and high-quality source material with Erucic acid content in seed oil 58-62% and glucosinolates content 7-10 mM/g was obtained. It is highly efficient to widely implement such cultivation in Ukraine, because rape oil with high Erucic acid content is necessary and indispensible in domestic economy.
