The priorities for vertebrates monitoring in Kyiv oblast has substantiated in accordance with requirements of the Red data book of Ukraine, the international Red Lists of threatened species and with requirements of corresponding international convention. Organizational, temporal and spatial structure of the vertebrates monitoring in Kyiv oblast has designed. The cadastre of terrestrial vertebrates in Kyiv oblast has developed (digital database linked with GIS). The data on state of populations and distribution of the model vertebrate species (Neomys anomalus, Coluber caspius, Elaphe longissima, Elaphe sauromates), obtained from the program implementation, will be used for new cadastre descriptions creation and will be incorporated into the monitoring system within protected areas of Ukraine in future.
