The purpose of the study - evaluation of genotypic variability of spring barley capacity to produce callus, embryoids and plants in anther culture in vitro; revealing a character of the inheritance of theses traits in population of spring barley doubled haploid recombinant lines and optimization of nutrient medium composition via using of natural and chemically modified starches. The population of doubled haploid recombinant lines (P=103) has been produced from F1 hybrids of spring barley cultivars possessing a contrast capacity to in vitro androgenesis, and the study on the inheritance of the traits characterising a passing of this process has been carried out. It has been shown that the majority of lines had a number of morphogenic anthers and regenerants close to a parent form with a high androgenetic capacity. A transgressive segregation has been proved for both characters. As a result of evaluation of barley genotypic diversity for androgenetic peculiarities cultivars and lines which were sources and donors of a high culturability have been selected. Two patents for the methods of barley haploid induction in anther culture in vitro based on the use of starches from natural corn mutants in the nutrient medium composition have been received. Experiments aimed at evaluating suitability of the use as gelling components of the media for in vitro spring barley anthers cultivation corn starches with a genetically determined rate of amylose and amylopectin (mutations wx, ае, su1, su2) and some new preparations of chemically modified starches have been carried out. A comparative study of the efficiency of the improved spring barley haploid production technology and a basic one has been conducted via involvement of hybrid breeding material into haploidization. A sphere of use - genetic and physiological investigations in the field of plant cell, tissues and organ cultivation in vitro, breeding with the aim of production and multiplication of valued breeding material.
