In acceleration phase, low differentiated precursor cells express CD38 antigen. In the phase of blast crisis, the percentage of CD34+CD38+ cells in bone marrow increases up to 20 %, with most of these cells acquiring the minimal features of differentiation lineage (Lin+/-). The phenotypic features of the majority of cells in pathological clone in peripheral blood and bone marrow coincide with that of the corresponding normal hematopoietic lineage.
