The results of screening studies of clean-up workers of the Chernobyl accident of 1986 -1987 years, inhabitants of the areas with high indoor radon-222 levels and contaminated territories, staff of the Shelter and the Chernobyl nuclear power plant revealed a high prevalence of chronic respiratory diseases. According to a survey of individuals included in the study group it was found that the most frequent risk factors for oncopulmonary diseases were ionizing radiation, smoking, chronic broncho-pulmonary system diseases. The most common form of bronchopulmonary diseases were chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (47%), chronic bronchitis (35%), bronchial asthma (10%). A system of regular check-up and registration of persons at high risk of oncopulmonology diseases under the influence of emergency and natural radionuclides origin was estimated.
