Objective: to study the history of Ukrainian publishing centers, evolution of publishing, structural and functional concepts of periodicals, analysis of their content, aimed for forming national self-consciousness of audience, analysis of the conceptual principles of the Ukrainian press publishing and its role in complex formation of the national outlook of society. The task: revision of catalogs of central and regional libraries and archives of Ukraine, the Russian National Library (St. Petersburg), the Library of the Russian Academy of Sciences (St. Petersburg) for Ukrainian periodicals, issued by political parties and movements, associations, societies in Ukraine and in exile. Methods of research were chosen due to specific subject of study and are based on the reliability of sources of historical knowledge - historical, diachronic, bibliographic, descriptive, structural and typological etc. The results: 316 periodicals, not being the subject of research interests for Ukrainian scientists, were introduced. This result facilitates the research of Ukrainian media of specified period as well as allows to compile the national bibliography of Ukrainian Press.
