Objective: on the base of this collections to create an array of special scientific and documentary sources on the history of Ukrainian and Western European art of 15-20th cc.; investigation and disclosure of life and creativity of individual artists through the development of Ukrainian Fine Arts in European context, integration of Western European tendencies in the visual arts of Ukraine, the discovery of the scientific and theoretical, artistic and practical elaboration of national values. Research methods include comparative historical-cultural method which ultimately allows to reconstruct a variety of philosophical, ideological and aesthetic views and in that context contributes to defining the main criteria for their evaluation. Traditional methods of systematic, chronological, stylistic and iconographic analysis contribute to scientific works and working on the solution of multidimensional problems opening characteristic features of the artist, ideological and artistic content and composition of its features define the contribution of the artist in the history of Ukrainian and world art, identity expressiveness of art school . Results and conclusions of the research will be applied in documentary and theoretical base of Ukrainian art. The results can be attached to a general works, textbooks, teaching courses on the history of Ukrainian and European art and used in museum practice.
