The aim - to explore the territory of landscape structure of Volchansk, Valkovskiy, Kupiansk districts to develop guidelines and measures to expand the natural protected areas. The research examined landscape structure of the three administrative districts of Kharkiv region (Volchansk, Valkovskiy, Kupiansk) by natural and human landscapes. The parameters of landscape heterogeneity for each of the natural-territorial complexes and anthropogenic landscapes - defined their territorial structure. Methods of assessment of the sustainability of landscapes, based on their spatial structure. This enabled to develop effective and realistic restoration projects local natural-territorial complexes and expansion of areas protected fund. The urgency stems from the necessity of expansion of facilities protected areas, conservation of landscape structure and the combination of a coherent ecological network of the national level.
