The dependence between the arc spectrum and these welding parameters is established. The technique of arc spectral diagnostics of the arc, which allows real-time detection of weld pool overheating, is developed. The arc spectrum diagnostic features is assigned and their self-descriptiveness is investigated. The results can be used to develop of weld pool heat input automatic stabilization system, which will prevent the formation of defects, such as "burn-through ".
