OP dispersions in nematics and FELC which are relatively stable in the course of time were obtained. OP surface modification with the new surfactant molecules improves stability of OP dispersions in LC media essentially with respect to the common surfactants. Further improvement of dispersion stability is promoted with the use of the new surfactants in combination with more common alkyl containing surfactants/ In the case of relatively small (9?10 nm) spherical OP in the nematic LC medium, this feature allows to obtain relatively stable OP dispersions with concentration of OP up to 5 % wt.
