Demianchuk.The aim of the study is to investigate the social status of men and women in rural community, the peculiarities of men and women life style; gender stratification as a system of men superiority; gender socialization of children and the youth; marriage and family relationships in contemporary village: customs and modern trends; social and sex stratification and education of the youth in rural areas: traditions and perspectives; the issues of gender inequality of social status and social potential of a woman in contemporary Ukrainian village.The methods of investigation are the following: the use of methods of psychological research; the newly introduced methods of social and humanitarian research: sociological polls, psychological research, questionnaire, testing, interviews etc. The novelty lies in studying the stratification problems of contemporary youth in rural areas and the status transformation of young men and women in the context of society gender socialization. The theoretical and practical results: the conducted poll made it possible to find out contemporary trends of social and gender stratification of Ukrainian rural youth, family values and youth's view of various life styles, problems of double identity (family and professional) of young men and women, social status of men and women in rural community and to learn the way rural youth sees gender roles of men and women, and if there any discrimination on the basis of sex in the working sphere. The efficiency of the newly introduced material: scientific and methodological recommendations allow to decrease the expenses on further vocational training of agrarian specialists (women and men-farmers) on 10-12%; to improve a young woman's views in the rural area, and to evoke the wish to change her social status (socio-economic, socio-political, socio-cultural) and her social potential in contemporary Ukrainian village. The comparative analysis of gender peculiarities of boys and girls in rural areas, their differences and problems (in social context) will help to resolve gender relations in rural community. The sphere of use: the results of the scientific study may be used by teachers and students of higher educational establishments and colleges, by post-graduate students, employees, managers, and everyone who is interested in gender problematics.
