Purpose of research - improvement of replacement heifers growing technology through the use of milk replacers, concentrates mixtures and commercial starters for the purpose of accelerated reproduction of dairy herds in farms of various types of ownership. Methods of research - zootechnical (estimation of live weight, average daily gains, linear measurements and conformation indexes, total feed consumption), physical and chemical (estimation of the component quality of milk), economical (feed conversion, total production costs on heifer growing, cost of gain and cost of weight of replacement heifers at different growth stages). Application of milk replacers in calf rearing allows to obtain high levels of average daily gains during first 6 month of life and makes saving about 512 thousand hrivnas per head which significantly improves economical effectiveness of rearing. It has been proved that replacement heifers grown on diet with 150 kg whole milk and 250 kg milk replacer should be allowed to free choice access to concentrates mix, better to commercial complete starter feed for the purpose of energy balance improvement and earlier rumen function development. Replacement heifers, fed concentrates mixture in milk period of rearing, have had 19,1 kg higher live weight at 24 months of age as compared to their herdmates, grown on whole milk diet, and the had same live weight as compared to heifers fed complete starter feeds, reaching correspondingly 520,4 and 523,3 kg.
