Results: techniques for development of an initial breeding material for "biodiesel” production have been improved; self-pollinated lines of sunflower with changed content of fatty acids and high specific combining ability for economic-valuable traits – 1000 seeds weight, oil content, productivity, oil yield from 1 hectares have been selected. Introduction: an initial sunflower breeding material with high oleic acid content in the oil, resistant to broomrape, false powdery mildew has been developed.
