Maintenance of such its dominating position is possible only under condition of further genetic progress and saving of competibility high level. So, the developing and improving of Red Dairy breed selection theoretical bases is actual question. The work aim was 10-15 % red dairy cattle production genetic potential increasing metods' developing and implementing, using modern population genetics' achievements. Area and sizes of investigations results implementing covers over 100 attestated breeding plants and reproductors of nine southern and eastern regions of Ukraine and АR Crimea and utility breed part (through breeding enterprises impact and use of received sires). Total number of improved cattle will reach about 100000 cows. Theoretical and methodical workings will be used in practical selection. The results of made investigations were the development of theoretical bases and metods of breed consolidation, sires' prepotence evaluation, heritability. There were developed the principles and formed generally breed information data base. The degree of consolidation of selection groups of different level of interbreed hierarchy (types, plant lines and families, related groups, half-sybes on father) was raised. Cattle genetic potentil of production in red dairy breeding husbandries was 8-10 % raised. Highproductive cow herds were created. Two new plant lines were bred.
