As is shown the state of arc plasma is significantly different from equilibrium due to the processes of transport radiation. The indicators of this nonequilibrium are first defined. The general pattern of physical processes in the glow discharge of a spherical diode is studied as well as the features of detail's surface modification in this discharge. The steam plasma gasification processes of carbon containing are analyzed. The examples of development of electric arc equipment for the conversion of such raw materials as well as for protective coatings of detail's surface are presented.
