Aim of the study - improvement of current and creation of new methods for monitoring the state of winter crops, evaluation of their resistance to the complex of unfavourable factors during winter period, as well as, in vegetation period and biological yield forecasting. Area of application - scientific and educational institutions, agricultural enterprises of various forms of property. Over the current period under review winter crop fields' inspection was done; differentiation of the varieties as for frost-resistance in the controlled conditions was determined. Viability of winter crop sowings in the region was estimated, evaluation of phytosanitary state of sowings was conducted, recommendations as for taking care of sowings on the farms of the region were given. Series of educational seminars for regional specialists, meetings and conferences devoted to the problems of taking care of crops, preparations to planting and Harvesting were organized. Recommendations were given to specialists by publishing booklets, interviews by radio and on TV, in newspapers. To the methods on monitoring the state of winter crop sowings the analysis of meteoconditions and phytosanitary state of sowings was included. "Passport of a winter field" was worked out. Weekly reports on the state of winter crop sowings, their frost-resistance and viability (in all above 50) were sent to agricultural specialists, Central administrative board of APR, ODA, Ministry of AIP, and National academy of agricultural sciences of Ukraine.
