Purpose - to summarize available information on informative indices of water and biological migration of heavy metals in landscapes, experimental study of laws of heavy metals water migration and their translocation to the plants. Methods of research - laboratory and analytical methods to determine numerical values of indices of water and biological migration of heavy metals in soils, universal general scientific methods, methods of theoretical analysis, systematic approach - to use indices of water migration and translocation of heavy metals in plants to assess the ecological condition of soils, comparative analysis - for analyzing the benefits of the use of certain migration indices to assess the degree of soil contamination with heavy metals. Indices of biological migration of heavy metals in soil-plant system can be absolute values of their content in plants and the relative index - rate of translocation, which is the ratio of accumulation of metals in plants to their content in the soil. An indicator of water migration of heavy metals may be more items washed from soil columns or lysimeters in experimental conditions. Objective measure of water migration of heavy metals is the angular dependency ratio "content in the soil-flow to the eluate." Important information about the nature and character of soil contamination by heavy metals gives an indicts of the heavy metals associated with different fractions of soil. Redistribution of mobile and fixed forms of trace elements on the profile of gray forest and dark gray podzolic soils of transelyuvial Left-bank Forest-steppe landscape of Ukraine is investigated. There are regular differences of migration biophile and man-made elements and their accumulation in test plants. Field of application is agriculture.
