It is shown that the Pb and Pb-Bi melts assists tp reducing of the strength as compared to the vacuum environment. It is established that the ferritic-martensitic steel 20X13is prone to liquid metal embrittlement in a temperatures interval 350 ... 450oC. The plasticity of this material depends on the environment and it is most significant in the Pb-Bi melt. It is shown that austenitic steel X18H10T is not embritted in Pb and Pb-Bi melts and maintains mechanical properties as compared to those in vacuum medium.
