Holographic ordering of such nanocomposites allows creation of photonic crystals of different dimensionality (1D, 2D, 3D) that combine diffraction properties with particular properties of NP. In the case of metallic NC properties of nanocomposites and periodic structures on their basics are mainly determined by excitation of local surface plasmons and local field enhancement that leads to the increase of nonlinear medium response, rise in luminescence intensity, lasing in scattering media and to significant lowering of lasing threshold and increase of efficiency of lasers with photonic crystal cavities. The aim of the project is investigation of ultrafast spectral-temporal dynamics of nonstationary absorption and transformation of plasmonic resonance in polymer nanocomposites with chaotic and ordered distribution of metallic NP (Ag, Au), influence of size, conditions of NP synthesis and formation of polymer matrix on the mentioned processes. The investigations are aimed at optimization of amplitude and spectral characteristics of nonlinear-optical response of plasmonic 1D, 2D nanostructures for their potential use as light-controlled diffractive elements, fully-optical fast modulators and external resonators of lasers with distributed feedback.
