Results of studies of genetic variability of species using molecular markers indicate a significant amount of genetic variation, even for small number of their populations. That is why we propose the actions for further research and conservation of these species as sources of valuable genetic resources. General conclusion about the failure of existing, mostly passive, environmental conservation of wild relatives of cultivated plants in Ukraine for example Armoracia macrocarpa is made. A paper also contains the informatoin about the wild relatives of cultivated plants that are rare in Ukraine. Economically important species of plants, promising to study as genetic reserves for various industries are analized.
