Purpose of the research – To improve the quality of expertise of radiation-induced cancers in patients of uranium plants by means of improvement of the criteria of occupational diseases in this group of patients. Methods of research and equipment – radiation-hygienic, clinical, x-ray, instrumental (radiography using TUR D 800-1, EDR-750 V, bronchoscopy, bronchoscopy with transbronchial biopsy using bronchoscope БВО-3), laboratory, cytogenetic. Results – By the results of reconstructive assessment of accumulated effective and equivalent doses to the lungs of 62 miners of uranium mines, the findings that with underground work service exceeding 20 years mean values of accumulated effective doses were about 570 mSv and accumulated equivalent dose to the lungs was about 2400 mSv, which did not exceed the permissible limits, were obtained. In 18.2 % of the patients the doses to the lungs corresponded to the threshold values of the permissible dose or exceeded it twice in some cases. Occupational lung cancers in uranium mine workers are characterized by the cancer development against a background of chronic obstructive lung diseases , rapid rates of the tumor development with early regional and distant metastases and late diagnosis, specific histology structure as well as a wide spectrum of accompanying diseases. Cytogenetic investigation demonstrated increased level of radiation induced aberrations of chromosomal type the miners with professional lung cancer and without oncopathy. Electronic database of occupational cancers of respiratory organs was created for the miners of SkhidGZK. Novelty – The data about the dose load of miners of various occupational groups of uranium plants were obtained, clinical, morphological, cytogenetic peculiarities of occupational cancers of the respiratory organs were described in miners of uranium mines. Degree of introduction – Eight articles were published. Area of application – radiation hygiene, occupational pathology, expert commission. Product Description popup.authors Ірха О.Є. Аміразян С.А.
