It is based on determination of physical properties of geological units (which thickness is in the range of several tens of meters) using methods exploration geophysics and lithologic-petrophysical analysis of coal measures. Lithologic-geophysical grading of geological units and complex of geologic-geophysical methods for their study are developed. Basic principle and criteria of physical-geological bases for prediction of reservoir quality are specified and determined. Basic principle enables to reduce geological problem, which has no general solution by geophysical data, to particular cases where it is solved unambiguously. Also criterion for reservoir-scale fractures diagnostics is developed. Convergence of prediction results with drilling data is confirmed.
