Correlation between high TMV content and elevated zinc concentration in plant tissues has been shown for the first time. Zinc amended at 5 MPC delays systemic transport of TMV in tobacco. Cytoplasmic inclusions of TMV in mesophyll cells become less structurally compact and dense as affected by zinc. Combined effect of virus infection and heavy metals is of synergetic character and invokes more pronounced cell pathologies (cell wall abnormalities, degeneration and destruction of chloroplasts and nucleus, etc.). Large starch grains were shown typical for the chloroplasts of such cells and are proposed as the indicator of environmental stress. For the first time TMV inclusions have been revealed in the peroxisomes. We have demonstrated no valid changes in the nucleotide sequence for the part of TMV CP gene under chronic influence of abiotic stressor, and hence environmental contamination with heavy metals does not promote the appearance of novel virus strains with the shift in their epidemiological potential. The outcomes of this research project have been published. Product Description popup.authors Іутинська О.А. Бисов А.С. Шевченко О.В. popup.nrat_date 2020-04-02 Close
