Goal: to introduce accessions, to test collection accessions of wheat and barley of winter and spring habit, to identify model accessions by basic characters and sources of agronomic traits. Methods: field and laboratory. Results. The preliminary estimation of basic biological characters: cold resistance, precocity, plant height, disease and lodging resistance, yield components has been done. Introduced varieties, lines and hybrid forms which distinguished by separate trait or combination of valuable ones have been identified. Model accessions for spring bread and durum wheat as well as for winter bread wheat, winter barley and spring barley have been identified. Two description collections of spring bread wheat and two ones for durum wheat, three ones for winter wheat by grain quality, one by productivity and high mass of kernel, duration of vegetation period, resistance against main fungal diseases (leaf rust, powdery mildew, Septoria leaf blotch) have been formed.
