Goal: to develop winter wheat initial material being resistant against main the most harmful diseases for breeding, to identify varieties with less invasion of pests and to study mechanisms of their resistance. Results. 3257 winter and spring wheat accessions have been analyzed. Among them 1099 ones were revealed to be resistant against leaf rust, 744 resistant against eyespot, 1621 resistant against powdery mildew, 1314 resistant against Septoria leaf blotch, 272 resistant against common bunt, 2021 resistant against Fusarium head blight. 537 accessions were resistant against complex of diseases. 1158 combination of crossing have been done in which 445 sources of resistance have been involved. 11989 hybrid populations F1 - F5 have been analyzed, among them 82103 samples have been selected and analyzed. In breeding nursery 1848 phenotypic uniform families have been analyzed and 305 ones of them have been submitted to breeders. Density of aphides, cicadas and wheat bulb flies in autumn is ascertained to depend on sowing dates. Winter wheat varieties to be invaded with cereal aphide and cereal leaf beetles in heading to the less extent have been identified. Seed dressers Vincit, Vincit Forte, Dividend Star, Lamardor, Maxim Star, Raxil Ultra have been proved to protect winter wheat plants against common bunt. Fungicides Alto Super, Amistar Extra, Falkon have been proved to be most effective when using in early tillering, whereas Abakus, Amistar Extra and Impact T - in early anthesis.
