Karazin popup.description2 Research object - functioning of diploid and triploid frogs on organism and cell levels. The aim - to establish the mechanisms compensating cell size effects of triploidy in hybrids of green frogs (compared to diploid hybrids) and their influence. on oxygen exchange and the intensity of metabolism. Research methods - field collection of material, skeletochronological estimation of growth rate, study of the morphology of blood cells, experimental measurement of resistance to hypoxia, measurement of hematological parameters. The project aims to establish compensatory mechanisms that ensure homeostasis in diploid and triploid hybrid frogs Pelophylax esculentus, which inhabit the same location, develop under the control of identical genotypes, but have different-sized cells. It was found that diploid and triploid Pelophylax esculentus have the same size, do not differ in the dynamic growth and life span and have the same parasites. These results suggest that dip-loid and triploid frogs have the same vitality and intensity of metabolism. In acute experiments was also shown that they don't differ in resistance to hypoxia. Hematologic studies showed that erythrocytes of triploid frogs have larger nuclei, an in-creased nuclear-plasma ratio, and reduced relative surface compared to erythrocytes of diploids. This could lead to the inhibition of metabolism in the triploids. It was also established that triploids do not differ from diploids in PCV and total hemoglobin rates. This is a consequence of the fact that larger erythrocytes of triploids contain more hemo-globin. But in erythrocytes of triploids there is more hemoglobin in it's active form. This is the result of increased synthesis of enzymes which break down modified forms of hemoglobin (methemoglobin and glycated hemoglobin). Registered mechanism of compensation of adverse cell size effects may act only in those vertebrate cells which have a nucleus, and is lost in eryth Product Description popup.authors Гоенага Е.
