Research objective - to give ground in theoretical terms and to develop the pedagogical system of pilots' professional readiness maintenance in the course of long-term flight breaks and to test its efficiency. Research methods - literary sources, ICAO documents and thesis works analysis in order to study the subject; methods of information acquisition (questionnaire, observational methods, methods of discussion) to reveal pilots' attitudes towards flight work; manned flight simulation; estimate methods of pilots' psychophysiological state; an expert estimate method to determine the levels of pilots' occupational skills and proficiency formation. The pedagogical system of pilots' professional readiness maintenance in the course of long-term flight breaks that consists of organizational and technological, psychological and pedagogical basics of formation of pilots' professional readiness maintenance in the process of flight breaks has been proved scientifically and developed. Being based on the results of the experiment of the pedagogical system efficiency testing in the course of long-term flight breaks among pilots depending on the duration of flight breaks, the pilots' age, the level of pilots' proficiency and the type of an aircraft, the pedagogical system of pilots' professional readiness maintenance in the course of long-term flight breaks has been proved scientifically. The scientific research is related to the problem of pilots' professional readiness in the course of long-term flight breaks and directly affects the flight safety. The results of the scientific research can be implemented to the educational process of flight educational institutions, designated health resorts, sanatorium-preventorium equipped with specific ground training facilities, including synthetic flight training. Furthermore, the results of the research can be directly implemented to the process of pilots' training by air companies, aircraft divisions and combat maneuver units of air force.
