The purpose of research is the study of psychophysiological functions peculiarities of highly skilled sportsmen and development of quantitative criteria for diagnostics of psychophysiological states depending on sport specialization. Metods: psychophysiological and psyhological research metods, stadies of heart rate variability, metods of mathematical statistics, pedagogical supervision. On the base of the study results the evaluation criteria for psychophysiological states depending on the sport were worked out. Peculiarities of psychic and psychophysiological states formation, the main structural elements of the functional system responsible for the physiological condition of athletes in various sports were revealed. The different models and diagnostic approaches to determining the psychophysiological states of athletes in training and competition activities were developed.
