The purpose of research - to study the genefund of subtropical and nut crops, select forms and varieties of ziziphus, pomegranates, figs, olives, feijoa, almond to obtain new varieties with desired parameters. Methods of investigation - standard methods used in international practice for selection and developed in the department of southern fruit crops of the NBG-NSC methods of primary varietal study and selection of subtropical fruit and nut crops. Results and novelty - the obtained new varieties: ziziphus - 2 varieties with harvest not less than 130 kg/ha and high content of bioactive substances, almonds - 3 varieties with late terms of flowering and high productivity, pomegranates - 3 varieties with harvest not less than 25-30 kg per tree and high fruit quality, feijoa - 2 varieties with early ripening and high quality fruits. Passport database of genefund collections of species, varieties and forms of subtropical fruit and nut crops has been done and handed to the National Center for Plant Genetic Resources of Ukraine (884 passports). The catalog "Species, forms, varieties of subtropical fruit and nut crops in collection of NBG-NSC (ziziphus, figs, almonds)" has been made. The monograph "Subtropical fruit and nut crops" has been written.
