The purpose of research - to study the genefund of rare fruit plants, select forms and varieties of Asimina triloba,Diospyros kaki and Diospyros virginiana to obtain new varieties with desired parameters. Methods of investigation - standard methods used in international practice for selection and developed in the Department of s SouthernFfruit Crops of the NBG-NSC methods of primary varietal study and selection of rare fruit plants. Results and novelty - the obtained new varieties: asimina triloba - 1 variety with harvest not less than 90 kg/ha and contents of vitamin C not less 39%, persimmon - 3 varieties with high frost resistance,high quality fruits and high productivity,and with harvest not less 20 center/hectare. Passport database of genefund collections of species, varieties and forms of rare fruit plants has been done and handed to the National Center for Plant Genetic Resources of Ukraine (88 passports). The catalogue "Varieties of the rare subtropical fruits in collection of NBG-NSC (Diospyros kaki and Diospyros virginiana)" has been made. The monograph "Nut crops and subtropical fruits" has been written.
